SAMPLES - REVIT BUILDING PERMIT DRAWINGS
The latest version of CAD software by Autodesk, REVIT, allows REVisions easily, hence the name.
As a 3-D element is resized or rescheduled, changes are shown in all drawings and dimensions related to the object.
3-D elements allow high quality renderings to be produced during the design process.
Revit is the latest suite of intelligent CAD software from Autodesk. In the 2014 release, exploded diagram views are possible using existing elements. This can make the design more legible. The overall graphic quality of the drawings has been improved.
Contractors may like the ability to takeoff exact quantities from the 3D elements, such as total amount of concrete used, saving them time in creating bids and estimates.
Pictured below is my first full set of Revit drawings for a small garage in a Ravine. You can see an exploded view, context renderings, structural modelling in foundation rebar and roofing details, landscape, coloured elevations and details in one small model.
Zand Engineering helped with the structural spec for the raft foundations. Mike Swan, code consultant for the city of Toronto, kindly helped refine the retaining wall approach for the hillside ravine site by giving building code references.
Toyota provided the car.
